As an auto-entrepreneur, you have to pay social security contributions to the administration. This makes it possible to finance the social protection system.
You have to declare your income and pay your contributions every month or every three months, depending on the option you have chosen when creating your auto-entrepreneur status.
⚠ To declare your income, you must do it online! The paper form you received is only a reminder of your first deadline.
- Step 1: you create an account online
You need to create an account on www.autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr. To do this, click on the "Mon compte" located at the top right of each page, before filling in your identifiers.
- Step 2: you reach your current deadline
Once logged in, click on the heading « Télédéclaration en cours » located on the left side of the page, in the vertical menu.
- Step 3: You declare your income
For reminder : a minimum period of 90 days (3 months) must elapse between the date of the beginning of activity and the first declaration and varies according to the choice of the periodicity of your declarations. During this time, a message appears in the "Déclarer et payer " section indicating that no declaration is expected at this time.
If there is no message, then you can enter your income in the box "Chiffres d'affaires des autres prestations de services"
As a reminder, your income is the sum of your payments over the period concerned (1 month or 3 months).
For example (for a quarterly payment):
- In October, November and December 2018, you made the following hours of babysitting: 14.50 + 12.00 + 17.00 = 43.50 hours
- Your income over these three months is 43.50 x 15 = 652.50 €
- Before January 31, 2019, you will have to declare to the administration 652,50 € of income for the last trimester of the year 2018
You can change your statement until 12 o'clock on the day of the deadline.
⚠️ Attention: in the absence of income, you are obliged to carry out your teledéclaration and to mention "0" for the period concerned.
- Step 4: You pay your social contributions
You can now pay your contributions by electronic payment (SEPA direct debit) or by bank card. The amount of your contribution depends on the contribution rate (between 5.5% and 22% of your income).
For example :
Your income over the period is 652.50 € and your contribution rate is 5.5%
You will therefore have to pay social security contributions of 652.50€ x 5.5% = € 35.89
Note: If the due date is a Saturday, a Sunday, or a holiday, the due date is postponed to the next day.
For example, in 2019 the due date for the February turnover return is March 31, 2019. As March 31 is a Sunday, the due date is extended to April 1.
